This product is designed to control the IOT practical products to record user’s ECG and export diagnosis reports.
戴悦科技是一家专注人体生命体征监测的研发型企业,与成都电子科技大学进行校企合作产学结合。此项目旨在运用多点组网的无线通信技术实现无线多导联心电监测,实现前沿技术成果转化。

The challenges:

Three nodes form a human body area network, obtain three-channel ECG signals, and calculate the derived twelve-lead waveform through an algorithm. Interact with the device through the phone.
三个节点组成人体局域网,获取三通道心电信号,通过算法衍生十二导联波形。

At present, the 12-lead holter used in the hospital needs to paste 10 electrodes on the human body. The electrodes are connected to the host through cables, and the patient needs to carry the host with them. This monitoring method causes great inconvenience to the patient's daily life.
目前医院在使用的12导联holter需要在人体上粘贴10个电极,电极与主机通过线缆连接,患者需要随身携带主机,这种监测方式对患者的日常生活造成了很大不便。
Single Lead patch
单导联心电贴
Single-lead ECG is a single-channel ECG signal collected by only one pair of ECG electrodes. However, due to insufficient information provided, only the phenomenon can be seen, and there is no way to accurately locate and diagnose. However, some monitoring functions can also be implemented.
单导联心电图为仅由一对心电电极所采集到的单路心电信号。但由于提供的信息不够,只能看到现象,没有办法精确定位确诊。但也可以实现一些监测功能。
30s ECG Patch
三十秒速测心电卡
No sticky electrodes are used, and analog chest leads and two-hand leads are commonly used to meet the needs of users for rapid ECG detection. Such devices require users to hold or touch to measure, and can only meet short-term measurement in terms of user experience. scene, long-term monitoring is not possible.
不使用粘贴电极片,常用的是模拟胸导联和双手导联,满足用户进行快速心电检测的需求,此类设备需要用户手持或接触方能测量,在用户体验上仅能满足短时测量的场景,无法进行长时监测。
Watch
智能可穿戴设备
Most of the smart bracelets and watches that can measure heart rate use PPG technology and have built-in optical heart rate monitors. However, this measurement method consumes power quickly, which affects the battery life of smart wearable devices. At the same time, the accuracy is not high and cannot meet the requirements of medical level.
可测心率的智能手环、手表大多都采用PPG技术,内置光学心率监测器。不过这种测量方法耗电快,影响智能穿戴设备续航。同时精准度不高,不能满足医疗级别的要求。

This users group confirmed busy working adults who usually stay up late and work over time. They are worried about their cardio-health situation but have no time to go to the hospital. Other user problems included expertise, time, or convenience that make it difficult to get monitored and get a reliable diagnosis report.

Using the storyboard, the user's process and scene of using the Daywell ECG monitoring service were constructed, the product usage method was explored, and the user's needs were visualized.

The design process has undergone an innovation and has been improved in many aspects. During this period, a lot of market research and comparison of competing products were carried out, and a suitable product form was finally determined. This innovation is not just a change in appearance, but comprehensively considers factors such as wearing comfort and portability from the user's point of view.
设计过程经过了一次革新,从多个方面做了改良,期间进行了大量的市场调研和竞品比较,最终确定了一种合适的产品形式。这次革新不只是外观的更迭,而是从用户角度综合考虑了佩戴舒适度、和便携性等因素。
Initial Concept
初始概念
The product form was initially set in the form of three nodes and one host, which were stored together in a wireless charging storage box. This solution can achieve basic functions, but it was not adopted because of portability.
产品形态最初定为三个节点与一个主机的形式,共同收纳于无线充电收纳盒。 此方案能够实现基本功能,但出于便携性的考虑,最终未采用。
Re-design
方案再设计
The redesigned product appearance reduces the volume, and the two-wing electrodes are placed in the patch, which improves the wearing comfort of the user. Through technical improvement, one of the nodes is used as the host to receive the signal, and is connected to the mobile phone through Bluetooth.
重新设计后的产品外观缩小了体积,将两翼电极置于贴片中,提升了用户佩戴的舒适度。通过技术改良,将节点之一作为接受信号的主机,与手机通过蓝牙连接。

Because the target users are working adults and most of them are good at using mobile phones, so we chose mobile phones as the interactive control platform and designed supporting apps for the product.

Takeaway
总结
This is a multi-tasking project in a start-up company. I took on the role of software and hardware product manager and designer, and independently completed ID and UX design solutions. In this project, I learned a lot of general hardware knowledge, and have a deep understanding of the medical industry and electro-cardiology knowledge. The next step will be to collaborate with software engineers to develop the project and put it into production.
